What are English Dovetails & Why do They Matter?
It's all about the construction quality
English dovetails are a construction method in which the edge of the wood pieces are cut into notches and interlocked with other pieces of wood. This photo is an example of this type of construction method. As you can see the front panel of the drawer is interlocked with the side panels in a way that will stop them from being separated when pulled. This is a superior design and should always be noted when shopping for items like dressers or night stands.
